Seyi Attires’ Story

Hello, and welcome to Seyi Attires — I’m Seyi (pronounced Shaiyee), and I’m so glad you’re here!

Born into the vibrant Yorùbá (Ìjẹ̀bú) culture of Nigeria, I’ve always been passionate about sharing the richness of African heritage — and what better way to do that than through bold, colourful, and joyful fabrics?

My love affair with Ankara began with wearing these eye-catching prints to work and events, relying on family in Nigeria to send me beautifully sewn outfits. But over time, delays and the classic “what I ordered vs. what I got” struggles pushed me to take things into my own hands. I learned to sew, and from there, my creative passion truly blossomed.

Now, I design and handcraft vibrant Ankara clothing, home décor, and thoughtful accessories that not only celebrate African culture but also add personality and warmth to your life.

All our fabrics are authentically sourced from Balogun Market in Lagos, the heart of West African textiles — helping support local Nigerian traders and communities.

We’re also committed to sustainability: every fabric scrap is up-cycled into accessories or shared with fellow crafters, ensuring nothing goes to waste.

Seyi Attires is more than just a shop — it’s a celebration of culture, craftsmanship, and community. Whether you’re here for a unique statement piece or a fabric that tells a story, I hope you find something that brings joy, pride, and inspiration.

Thank you for supporting this journey.

Happy shopping!

Warmly,

Seyi
